If you are wondering what to do with old garden books and you hate to throw them out, you can recycle them for a good cause. Open Lands of Orland Park is collecting new and "gently used" garden books and magazines to be sold at a nominal price at the Orland Park Garden Walk on Sunday, June 28, 2009. All proceeds will benefit Open Lands of Orland Park.

Donations can be dropped off at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 South Ravinia, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm until Friday, June 26.

In addition to touring outstanding Orland Park gardens, Garden Walk patrons will be able to shop the boutique and craft vendors and get gardening tips from Ted Biernacki of Ted's Greenhouse in Tinley Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Civic Center grounds. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door and include the garden tour, optional transportation to tour the gardens and refreshments. The vendor and craft fair is open to the public and there is no admission fee to attend.
