Posted on 02/26/2009

The Village of Orland Park Office of Special Services will sponsor a Mental Health Community Services Education Seminar on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 6:30 pm. The seminar will be held at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 South Ravinia Avenue, Orland Park, Illinois.

This educational seminar will be presented by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI - South Suburbs). Representatives from NAMI - South Suburbs, Cornerstone Services, Grand Prairie Services, Ingalls Hospital, Metropolitan Family Services, Thresholds, Trinity Services and Will County Health Department will give presentations and answer questions.

In a given year, 22% of adults and 13% of children suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder. Early detection of psychological and emotional problems is an important first step on the road to recovery through proper medication and treatment.

This FREE seminar is designed for families and others to increase awareness of the community services available in the south suburbs. Learn more about educational programs and support groups, outpatient services, residential services, vocational training, crisis intervention and services, special services for children and teenagers and forensic mental health services.
