Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin will co-host a free property tax appeal seminar on Monday, November 16 with Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak. The seminar will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 Ravinia Avenue.

Orland Township residents with 2015 tax bill questions are invited to the hour-long seminar.

“I encourage everyone to come out on Monday for this informative seminar,” Mayor Dan McLaughlin said. “Commissioner Patlak will explain how to properly appeal a tax assessment and share more on the Board of Review’s appeal procedure.”

Taxpayers should bring a copy of their most recent tax bill to the seminar, as Board of Review staff will be present to answer questions.

The Board of Review does not assess property, set tax rates, or collect taxes and there is no fee to file an appeal. Appeal forms may be picked up at the Board of Review, 118 N. Clark Street, Room 601, Chicago and at the Markham office, 16501 Kedzie Ave., Room 237. Appeals can also be filed online at www.cookcountyboardofreview.com.
