METRA Construction Update for 143rd Street Commuters

METRA Construction Update for 143rd Street Commuters
Posted on 04/20/2012

IMPORTANT NOTICE
FOR 143RD STREET TRAIN STATION COMMUTERS

Metra is shifting the tracks at its 143rd Street Station in Orland Park. Because of this, access paths to the trains have been temporarily relocated. Commuters are encouraged to allow extra time to reach their trains, following the posted signs to cross the tracks. Please do not cross the tracks in non-designated areas.

Per Metra, handicapped access will only be available from the Southwest Highway parking area during construction. Though the 143rd Street station is accessible, there is no handicapped access from the station to the platform while construction is underway. Commuters needing handicapped access from the station to the platform for tickets or parking payment should use the 153rd Street station.

Although this is a Metra project, the Village of Orland Park will do its part to keep its commuters updated as additional information becomes available.
