Wednesday, July 7th has been designated the "Village of Orland Park Grand Slam Group Event" at U.S. Cellular Field, home of the Chicago White Sox.

Specially priced White Sox tickets are available for Orland Park residents, their families and friends. Tickets normally priced at $43, $39, $38, $28 and $24 are available for $21.50, $19.50, $19, $14 and $12. Attendees need not be residents of Orland Park to take advantage of the half priced tickets.

"The White Sox have invited Orland Park to again participate in a grand slam group event and we invite everyone to be a part of this evening of baseball," said Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin.

More than 1000 people attended Orland Park's first grand slam event held in 2009. "We're hoping even more families are able to take advantage of the discounted tickets this year," the mayor said. "This is a nice break for those who may otherwise be forced to limit their summer travel and activities," he added.

Ticket order forms for the 7:10 p.m. game against the Angels are available at all village buildings and on the village's website at www.orland-park.il.us. Tickets may also be ordered on line at www.whitesox.com/orlandpark or by calling Ticketmaster at 866-769-4263 and using the code "OPN." Service fees will apply for ordering on line and through Ticketmaster.

Along with specially priced tickets, attendees can order parking passes and hot dog value meals. All orders must be received by Friday, June 11. Tickets will be mailed to the provided address and all game times and promotions are subject to change.

"The White Sox have told us that a number of Cub fans attend these events," the mayor noted. "This is a great outing for everyone, whether they're from Orland Park or not," McLaughlin said.
