Village of Orland Park snow plowing crews continue their clean-up efforts today, Monday, February 2. A total of 14 inches of snow fell in the village late Saturday evening through 4 a.m. Monday morning.

Plowing crews are focusing on secondary streets, cul-de-sacs, courts and dead ends throughout Monday and into Tuesday.

Snow is initially removed from the center of the street followed by curb line passes. Wind rows will be created by snow plows as curb line passes are made so residents’ patience is requested and appreciated.

The village’s parking ban continues with parking on village streets currently prohibited. The Orland Park Police Department will ticket parked vehicles and they will be towed if necessary.

Residents are reminded to always push shoveled snow to the lawn and never to the street. If able, clear a three foot parameter around fire hydrants near your homes, digging them out from the street.

Trash and recyclables pick up is one day later this week because of the excessive snow. Keep toters behind the curb line and not in the street so they don’t hamper plowing efforts.
