Orland Park Police Department is Accepting Applications

Applications for new officers available January 4, 2021



ORLAND PARK, IL-(December 30, 2020) - Applications for testing for the Orland Park Police Department will be available beginning Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Orland Park Police Station, 15100 South Ravinia Avenue. Applications may also be completed and downloaded from the Village's website at orlandpark.org.

Police officer positions offer a starting salary of $64K annually (or higher with prior police experience) with a gradual increase to 110K after six years of service with Orland Park.

Completed applications must be returned to the Orland Park Police Department by 5 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2021.

Mailed applications must be postmarked by February 1, 2021 and sent to Orland Park Police Department; ATTN: Board of Fire and Police Commissioners; 15100 South Ravinia Avenue; Orland Park, IL 60462.

Applicants must be United States citizens, at least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age (except as permitted by statute) and in good physical and mental condition. Applicants are required to have two years (60 semester hours) of college credits, or one and one-half (1½ ) years (45 semester hours) of college credits and one year of continuous active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.

The mandatory orientation for prospective police officers will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021. Reporting for applicants whose last name begins A-L begins at 8:15 a.m.; reporting for applicants whose last name begins M-Z begins at 8:30 a.m. All applicants should report for orientation. No further notification will be issued.

The written exam will be offered Saturday, March 20, 2021. Both the orientation and the exam will be held at the Orland Park Civic Center, 14750 South Ravinia Avenue.

Applicants will later be required to take and pass the following examinations and tests: written examination, Power Test Card, oral examination, medical and optical examinations, psychological examination and background investigation (including the Police Department Employment Drug Policy).
