Downtown Main Street Parking Structure
dt.png

The Downtown Main Street Parking Structure is a new multi-level public parking facility currently under construction at the northeast corner of 143rd Street and Ravinia Avenue (9650 143rd Street). This project will deliver to our downtown market over 520 parking spaces and an additional 12,000 square-feet of commercial space with the potential for outdoor seating. In addition, the Village is also constructing new public streets in the area that will include attractive streetscape features and provide safe connections to link together existing and future development.

Walsh Construction – the group contracted with to construct the parking structure – has created a website that provides updates and other information to the general public. The most interesting feature is a webcam that faces east and captures the construction activity of both the parking facility and the University of Chicago’s medical office building from a vantage point atop Ninety7Fifty on the Park. The webcam is setup to capture an image every 15 minutes, and the functionality allows for time-lapse playback.
