Orland Park Theatre Veteran Named Comedy Improv Director

The Orland Park Theatre Troupe's 2018 summer show is a murder mystery that includes audience participation. Admission includes hors d'oeuvres, desserts and soft drinks with a cash bar available.

"We're excited to have actors from throughout the Chicago area appear in our summer show," said Jean Petrow, the Recreation Department program supervisor who oversees cultural offerings. "Audience participation shows are always fun because everyone is a part of the performance."

This year's theatrical fare is "Touchtone M for Murder," an audience participation piece written by Craig Sodaro.

"We have a great cast that immediately creates a rapport with the audience," said Frann Carnivele, the show's director. "Everyone will enjoy this murder mystery --- and can help solve it."

Orland Park's Bryan Riess appears as Sam Slade, a famous although inept detective who needs help from the audience to solve a mystery.

The cast also includes Jacqueline Ashcraft (Shorewood) appearing as Hope Beaupree, Michael Barr-Schinzel (Chicago) as Colonel Horace Clamskey, Sarah Callis (Orland Park) as Adelaide Twitterman and Vincent Ferry (Tinley Park) as Tex Dayton.

"The Chicago area is blessed with some of the most talented community actors and we're fortunate to have so many of them be a part of this show," Carnivele said. "It's a great mix of very funny, very creative actors who share their love for live theater."

Lisa Glatz (Downers Grove) is Mrs. Wilton and Denise Goad (Homer Glen) is Faith Beaupree. Camille Hicks (Tinley Park) plays the role of Holly Holgrave and Maria Manzella (Mokena) is Rhonda Wilton. Cousin Calvin Cobb is played by Michael Massura (Hammond) and Alice Milakovich (Chesternon, IN) is Verna Clamskey.

Ray Misischia (Joliet) is Mortimer McGrath and Niki Mutnansky (Orland Park) is Lila Dean with Elizabeth Sacha (Palos Park) appearing as Caroline Clamskey. Tom Sadzewicz (Bourbonnais) is Mr. Wilton with Diana Stephenson (New Lenox) appearing as Charity Beaupree. Brenden Zielinski (Frankfort) portrays Rodney Wilton.

Len Wcislo is the show's assistant director.

Performances will be at the Orland Park Civic Center on Saturday, July 14 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 15 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults and may be purchased at Recreation Administration, 14600 South Ravinia Avenue.

Admission includes appetizers, desserts and soft drinks. A cash bar will be available. For more information, call 708/403-7275.
