The Village of Orland Park has hosted three concerts at its newest outdoor venue, the 12-acre Centennial Park West in the Colette Highlands Subdivision near 159th Street and 108th Avenue.

"The City Lights Orchestra performed this past July 4th weekend and at the same time last year," said Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin, who has co-sponsored the village's concerts. "Labor Day Weekend brought the Hillbilly Rockstarz, a great Chicago area country band," the mayor said, "We're looking for input for what types of shows people would like to see at Centennial Park West."

The "We Want To Know" area of the village's website, in the left margin at www.orland-park.il.us currently includes a survey asking those who attended the village's concerts and the general public to share their input and suggestions.

"We invite people to visit the village's website to let us know how they like this newest venue in Orland Park," said Trustee Pat Gira, chair of the village's Recreation and Parks Committee. "This is a great opportunity to let the village know what type of music you'd like to hear at this great location," Gira added.

The survey asks which concerts the respondents attended, their favorite types of music, questions about concessions and show times, what kind of music they'd like to see at Centennial Park West and more.

"There are a number of questions inviting people to let us know what they think," McLaughlin said. "We want to know what people like, which shows they saw, how they found out about the concerts and anything else they'd like to offer," he added.

The survey will be available until September 30 with results posted October 1. For more information, call the village's Recreation Department at 708/403-7275.
